A beautiful recording of some crazy lightning without any rain or wind. There are some birds in the background but they can be removed easily enough. If you would like me to re-upload this with the birds taken out, let me know.

Recorded on a rode nt1a using my yamaha ag03. A thunderstorm passing my house close to the alps. Use with or without credit, for anything you want including commercial - cc0. <3.

I tried ripping sound from a game and it came out as some code, but, i played around in audacity and came out with this. Enjoy =).

In three years, only two days where thunder was roaring very loud above my apartment. I am relieved to have been able to immortalize, with the windows open, this deluge amplified by the inner courtyard of my building. Microphones are located in my room, windows opened. Basicucho32bitsfloat_192khz.

A storm, first you can hear hail transitioning to just rain, some thunder in the background. You can listen the water hitting hard ground. Concrete.

I recorded it with an optimus tape deck and an old microphone (the tape i recorded it on was a maxell ur), i then used audacity and the same tape deck to convert it to digital. 5 1/2 minute recording using zoom h6 recorder of a storm front that passed through cincinnati on 4/9/2020 (which included 4 smaller f0 tornadoes). Made up of 3 segments put together. First segment (0:00) is rain and hail, second segment (1:20) includes tornado warning siren going off with one very loud thunder just before it shuts down, final segment (4:40) is rain and wind.

You are sitting in my garden workshop facing south west as the first storm of the year moves in over the south downs towards you. Sit back and relax as the thunder rumbles around you.

Rain sounds in ipoh city from perak state of malaysia.

There was a dry thunderstorm 10 km far away from the dictaphone this dawn (27th of may 2014). You can hear crickets and dogs barking in the distance as well. Recorded in nighttime by sony stereo dictaphone.

This sounds as if it were staged by hollywood, but it actually did happen, i swear! birds chirp away to set the scene, but a beefy thunder roll intrudes. Soon after, raindrops begin to fall as if on cue. Theres a little handling noise click in the begining that is easy to crop out if you like. The recording is unedited. At 1:35 i move the mics closer to the deck so you can hear the splashing. At about at 3:10 i you’ll hear a different timbre as i move away from the rain and under an awning. About 3:45 the rain settles down and the birds start chirping again. Hopefully there are some useful segments in here. Recorded with a dead cat on a tascam dr-05 at 48khz 24 bit, then compressed with “lame --preset insane --scale 10” to make up for the low gain i used (i was afraid a thunderclap would engage the limiter).
